Scrambled update Jan 17 2012 again

That’s from Hong Kong (which they imported from Japan of course), which in all my years of eating Pocky it’s the first I’ve seen of the gold box (I previously tasted only Strawberry and Regular Chocolate).

While we’re on the topic of snacks, I’ve been meaning to ask about this:

I want to know what the ingredients are because it’s Green lol, of course I would choose that over Chocolate, Strawberry, mango etc. And what does Pandan mean? 😮 (This pastry is from Max’s Restaurant, the Corner Bakery that is)

Scrambled update Jan 17 2012

Well, it’s one of those posts where I update on some things. Anything. Well, actually, I have an ongoing mess with one of my hard drives (S.M.A.R.T. area tells me it’s dead. Yeah, how in the heck is the HDD still good but the SMART part is dead?), so I have to scrap some photoshop ideas, and while that’s going I figured I might as well post something….

You know how there seems to be a lot of time if your computer is busy doing something, so I did some digging around my stuff and found this pencil board that came with the Stratos 4 OVA DVD (le hot spring ep :D) Now I remember why I was attracted to Infinite Stratos. Back in Winter 2011, somewhere in the back of my mind the fond memories of Stratos 4 must have compelled me to get into Infinite Stratos, which of course I eventually got to love the girls in that series as well. Well, look at her, aint she a beauty. GREEN TWINTAILS DAMNIT.

And of course it got me thinking. A lot of the DVD’s I bought have those extras in them, such as Galaxy Angel’s box set that included gashapon figures, or the Gravion DVD volume 1 which came with decals. Honestly, if they didn’t have those extras, I wouldn’t have had bought them, considering I was traveling at the time with hardly any space to transport them ($29 single discs, back in 2006-2007 from AAFES on US Army bases in Germany). English licensed nowadays should include little things like this, because I know it made me happy with my purchases, which I’m sure it made others happy too.

Speaking of photoshops, here’s a quickie (above). Yes, she is photoshopped. Take a closer look 😛 Now if I hadn’t had so much busy things to do, I’d photoshop the rest of her body 😀

Q & A with mangatron: Big ones, Small ones, and any in-between?

The post title is a joke from the Full Metal Panic manga, specifically the second one. I believe its volume 03, when Sousuke worked in a video rental store. I bought that manga in a US Army base bookstore back in 2006 when I returned to Germany, hence why it’s rather special to me. Except for the part where I left it in Germany.

If you read my last post, you’ll find I’m in favor of small, sporadic posts instead of once-a-blue-moon big posts, and to continue that, there are much questions going about that my PM inbox at the Animesuki forums cannot contain. Seriously, I have to empty that almost twice a season XD So today I’m going to tackle a question that has arisen a number of times the past 3 seasons: Who is that girl in your avatar?

Q: Okay, it’s been going on for awhile, but why the bouncy avatars?

A: It’s a fairly recent thing. I’m not really known for it, but as usual something happened and it ended up being a habit. It all started with the Anime version of Astarotte’s Toy, and Lotte’s well endowed mother. Specifically, episode 05. And I made it no secret my love for my Queen, but I had the fun idea to take it a step further by placing her in my avatar, perhaps a first for a mature woman such as her XD

Of course, it made a heavy impact: at the time, my “lolitron” nickname was as prevalent as ever, then all of a sudden a bouncy woman resides in my avatar space? Shortly afterwards, I never failed to receive a PM/visitor message about “Who is the girl(yes she has been called a girl) in your avatar” during this time, and I thought “Oh, there’s not many viewers for this show, maybe I can recommend a lot to it” and I proceeded to pounce on any chance I can get to animate her screen time.

From that point, I have had a “big” avatar since. If there wasn’t a new pair of big ones that week, the avatar remained. The best part: I have had so many PM’s about questions of what series my avatar came from, and I have directed them to the appropriate thread, thus making them watch a series they never would have had it not been for my avatar. Thus, the story of my bouncy avatars, why I continue to use them, and why it remains the #1 PM I get XD

This one deserves special mention. My favorite, one that lasted for almost a month, and the most controversial avatar I have used that brought smiles and a headache to mods and regular members alike, which was also responsible for making me clean out my PM inbox twice: R-15’s Chief-chan.

Up next, is… actually, I think I should finish that tutorial first. I was also hoping to resume 7DA afterwards.

Something hilarious for now

As my health and real life take a toll on me, I was trying to work on that tutorial I promised for the Shirley edit. Since photoshop happened to be open, I decided to do something quick and cheap to reinforce a joke (I am about to make) @ Animesuki:

 Why is it quick and cheap, even though it looks so good? Because I am employing the Eye Deception rule, by making the above image smaller to compensate for lower details. Here’s how it looks originally:

The first of several changes.

What a strange month of October. Bad health, self-inflicted partition errors, Qaddafi bites the dust, not to mention I am so in love with the Fall 2011 anime season. But, this post was meant to be a minor update on one of the changes to my blog, and I’d like to announce the new plan in regards to posting certain things: WordPress will be the more extremely perverted side of things. A lot of this mostly revolves around stuff relating to 18+ stuff that’s not appropriate for my blog here, which I want to avoid the Adult content rating as much as possible for Blogger. According to my observations of WordPress-based hentai doujin scanlator teams, it seems one does not need to engage in that extra step of “you are about to enter a mature site” thing Blogger has, supposing you do make an 18+ blog.

I know it seems like a weird decision, but consider this an evaluation for myself: can I completely move to WordPress, or can I not live without Blogger? I have a lot of fun memories here, while WordPress…. looks awfully plain. Maybe that’s where its strength lies…

Majikoi Uncensored… partly

Ah, the beauty of girls... without blockades(Yeah her hand is that big). WordPress, why do you make this so hard...

Well that doesn’t look good. I don’t mean the girls, I mean why in the world is WordPress so…. I don’t know, screwy? I know this is my first WordPress post, but it’s so unfriendly. For example, I do image captions a lot. With Blogger I get to set it manually, but WordPress has an option to make it automatically. Should be easy, right? Wrong. Apparently, adding the picture first would not let me type into the body of my post. I had to switch to html editing, type some random jargon after the tags, and then I can type outside the darn caption box. I don’t swear often, but damn I had to do it now. My blinking text cursor disappears sometimes too…

Yes,  I use Firefox. Yes, I have no choice because of my capitalistic wireless carrier (seriously, compressing the entire internet all based on User agents for IE, FF, and Chrome? Sunnova…), and what the bloody hell, Chrome is so… okay, I did search for stuff relating to the User agent, and I have not found an add-on for user Agent editing like Firefox’s User Agent Switcher. So there, Firefox as my browser of choice (or my lack of choice).

Ranting aside, WordPress has a lot going for it in regards to these nice set of options. Just… I just don’t like all this mass dependancy on javascripting (Or how about this: a flash uploader by default for adding images? How much did Adobe pay you guys…:P) I switched to a browser based uploader for my images in a heart beat. I guess I need time to work on this whole WordPress’ing…

Ok finally ending my rants, let’s talk about the picture, ja? Why is it uncensored “partly”? Well, I abandoned the uncensoring project for this scene. There’s a number of reasons, mostly but not limited to:

-This was worked on right after ep 02 came out. Of course, shortly afterwards my laptop needed serious maintenance, so a considerable amount of time passed and the novelty of the joke is a bit stale.

-This is actually a composite of 2 720p-sized scenes. I failed to realize that the scene where the dog floats out of the bath was an easier edit than my first choice, the very first time you see this scene (when the girls started chatting). So I thought it’d be easier to add my edits of the first scene with edits of the second scene, and we have the not so bad looking incomplete image above.

-I suffered several health issues during the time since Majikoi ep 02 aired, which just several hours ago I suffered a sever migraine (a recurring health problem, if you did not know).

-I decided to… fix a Charlotte Dunois image instead. :p

-When the eps proceeding ep 02 had even more fun scenes to uncensor, I realized this wasn’t as unique as my Mayo Chiki endeavor (that episode 05 thing).

-As anyone who had to move stuff from one hdd to another, I can tell you I’m still having a heck of a time moving stuff around. I had to move over 300GB of data around…
