Feel my Birthday: the hilarity of this day.

Ah, my birthday. That’s what this day was all about, and you can see last year 2010, I made a post about that hilarious thing I do on May 8.

The hilarious thing I do today is of course fire up my DS and play the two games “Feel the Magic XY/XX”, and “Rub Rabbits”, sequel to Feel the Magic. Owners of these 2 games probably know why, but I’ll spoil it here for those of you who don’t know what makes these games special. You know how when you turn on your DS, and if it’s a special day, such as New Years, it makes a special boot up sound, which also plays on your birthday. Funnily enough, both of the above mentioned games have a feature like that too, where the girl in those games congratulates you with a “Happy Birthday” when you reach the Main menu of the game. I know what your thinking, I must be a sad bloke for firing up these games on my birthday, but come on! It’s a feature of the game, and I thought to myself “I wonder if I can keep up playing these 2 games on my birthday”. Ever since 2005 I have played FtM (Rub Rabbits came out in 2006) ever since, and it not only became a tradition of mine, but a hilarious test of my devotion to one of my most favorite handhelds ever. Honestly, I wanted to do that as a part of my Human Psychology research, to see if I’ve got a screw loose somewhere if these 2 games become a staple on my birthday. I’m inzane in the membrane, remember? I’m probably the only guy in this world that plays these 2 games on his birthday. This being the same guy that jams to House of Pain’s Top o’ The Morning to Ya on this day as well.

Now you are probably thinking I should get my game on with Love Plus instead. If only it was localized, yeah, because while I may understand what my girlfriend says, I don’t want to pick the wrong option when she asks me for some Ice cream XD

Let’s take a look at my customized girls for FtM and Rub Rabbits:

In Feel the Magic, that’s the only valid twintail there.
Rub Rabbits. She’s wearing the choice outfit I picked for her lol. Now that’s a twintail! The ponytail in this game is difficult to take a pic of though…
That’s when I touched her skirt. It’s not like I’m a pervert! I just haven’t touched her skirt in like, I don’t know, 1 year? lol
Thank you Sega for such a memorable game!

Happy Birthday mangatron!

May 8th. It’s a a special day for me, especially for this year, but it’s not entirely because it’s my birthday, but for several other reasons.

I’m a big fan of the anime call “MM!”, aired during Fall 2010, and if you didn’t watch it (spoilers),  at the end of the last episode, the whole gang decided to celebrate Isurugi Mio’s birthday. I really liked that scene, not because it was really touching, but that’s similar to my situation over the years, as time went on I had always spent my birthdays in a quiet way, it went to the point where my parents and siblings don’t remember it anymore (or they didn’t want to mention it lol). My own mother regularly forgot how old I am lol. It wasn’t always a sad thing, as I didn’t take it as a bad thing, but rather a chance for me to do something interesting, and during those times I was alone in remembering my birthday, and I turned it into a day of hilarity, and in recent years, it has become a bit of some insanity thrown in XD

But you might have heard that news where the MM! creator passed away recently, and I got to thinking, I liked MM so much, and now it looks like we may never get that second season we all wanted, and now I find it hard thinking that maybe the grandest thing to ever happen to the series is that Mio was no longer alone, and her birthday was finally celebrated among those that have supported her, not as club members, but eventually as friends.

So you’ll notice at the Animesuki forums, I decided to use that option to just “show day and month” of one’s birthday, it’s no longer a day I get to do something really stupid by myself, this is also in memory of Mio, and the MM! series, and I want to thank the creator for all those memories, and my decision to reveal it first on the Animesuki forums is a thank you to all the members who have put up with my inZanity and ridulous, sensible posts for a good 7 years, thanks guys and girls! It’s not over yet though lol! Now I get to celebrate with all of Animesuki 😀

Some more information as to why my birthday is special:

-This day also happens to be the officially recognized Victory Europe day.
-Born in (West) Germany, it makes the above even more special. Tom Cruise may have been born on the 4th of July XD, but I was born the day the new Germany was born.
-My name, still to be withheld till a later time, also plays an important part in the whole VE/Germany thing.
-This year also happens to be a wonderful year, and May starts off pretty nicely too. Bin Laden’s demise, and then great movies like Thor and Pirates of the Caribbean, and I’m definitely looking forward to Transformers DOTM.
-The day, 8th, also happens to be my favorite number. Not that billiards thing, honestly XD

A part of my decision to reveal my birthday was to lessen the anonymity towards my readers and to lessen that not-so-mysterious vibe that keeps emanating from my blog. Of course, things like my year and age and name are still kept secret mainly for security reasons, ones such as the recent Sony PSN fiasco going on now. I’m so glad I held off on pressing X on that PSN icon on the XMB of my PSP lol.

Some of the notable past birthdays:
-In 2003 I entered an art contest for my local library, and my Manga inspired artwork won the 1st prize. During the years Harry Potter was popular, my artwork lost to the Grand Prize: a dragon >__> I spent that prize on my birthday on volume 2 of the Onegai Teacher manga. I had the hots for Mizuho 😀
-In the same year I joined Animesuki, I was a beta tester for Novalogic and their game Joint Operations, the competitor to EA’s Battlefield. For that year and 2005, I played that game on my birthday, garnering me the nickname “RPG master”, and my suicidal gameplay style was a scourge on opposing players, which was actually my foreknowledge of the game that kept me a step ahead.
-In 2006, when I was recovering from the first of many food poisoning incidents, I decided to buy my second Apple product, an iPod 30GB (the video one. Previous Apple product was a Shuffle). It was the beginning of a love hate relationship with Apple, ending with me giving away that iPod because I was driven to madness that is the program called iTunes and the monopolistic way I had to load video’s onto it, not to mention the abyssmal battery life and the brightness update that came too late.
-2007 and 2008 saw me with abruptly ending my fansub translation career and largely recovering from repeated food poisoning incidents then on. It was then that I decided to start working on my Manga projects, and the year 2008 saw the birth of 1 project in  a complete form. Since then I have added another project which I decided was a good enough debut. The projects are currently waiting for me to recover from the trauma I am currently experiencing with the damage suffered to my right wrist during vacation 2010.

There’s something else stupid I do on my birthday,  and while I may look at it as stupid, I’m sure many of you will raise an eyebrow and go “say what?” lol. Look forward to it in posts that follow.

I met Misaka in, and I caved.

You know, during my escapades to repair my laptop, I came across an interesting banner somewhere in Manila (Ermita I think):

Darn power lines. This country sure could modernize…

Look, it’s Misaka and her gang! A better view:

Again the darn power lines are in the way. Note the Jeepney on the extreme left, showing how low my hired ride was.

I suggest you look at the establishment beside it (on the right). I hope there are girls in there with skirts, because I would like to walk in there with a portable fan running full blast and see some panchira. Yeah, right. Ahem, anyways, having seen Misaka, I find it ironic (I don’t believe in coincidence) that the Index Season II arc at the time was the one where Misaka goes on about the penalty game, which featured appearances of some Misaka sisters and the tiny Misaka Misaka. I felt so strongly of the sisters, that I went and got my own goggles:

I could mod a pinhole camera from into there…

…or maybe some Splinter Cell thermal imaging and night vision…

Sure they aren’t like what the sisters use, but I remembered the color green, which happens to be my favorite color, so now I think of the sisters everytime I don these goggles as I work on repairs that fling a piece of metal at my precious eyes, says mangatron with a content tone of voice. Did I just level up to the next level of weirdness in my Anime/Manga hobby? By the way, the pictures are from a camera phone. A modded fixed focus lens, I modified it for manual focus, being possibly the first manual focus smartphone out there (yes, the lens are adjustable without a heavy case mod). The reason why I chose this camera option is because there is no way my Touch Pro would have captured it clearly, and as you can see, before I left the house I set it to a level close to infinity zoom, and despite the low tech (old phone, people), I think it came out rather nicely considering I was in a moving vehicle and my left hand was used because of the injury on my right wrist. Not bad at all, says mangatron with a satisfied tone of voice.

Of course, it made me laugh [seeing Misaka in Manila]. Now, I know Project Railgun doesn’t sponsor a karaoke place out here, but the part I laughed about, was that misuse of copyrighted material isn’t new in this country. Because, Tony Stark has a stake in this country and he wants you to work those abs:

Sure thing Tony.

5 Years ago on this day, December 24, 2005, I was a happy new owner of
my very own laptop. I had originally bought that laptop for myself to
prepare for my grand return trip to Germany that weekend, which didn't
happen until 2 months later.

The original (primary) plan was to use this laptop to assist me in my
mangaka endeavors. But I had that gut feeling inside me that leaving
the USA suddenly at that time wasn't a good idea, and my health turned
for the worst in the second night of my stay in Zurich, Switzerland.
What became of a laptop for work ended up being a laptop for
entertainment, as I proceeded to buy a bunch of DVD's while
recuperating on post in US military installations in Germany (due to
the suddent timing of the trip, I couldn't preload it with my favorite

Afterwards, the laptop saw me accomplish some amusing tasks, like
overclocking it (yes, overclocking the laptop really works), online
gaming of Delta Force BHD, more famously my fansub translation work,
and various Photoshop work, like the worst file to run on 700MB of
I had so many layers, I had to merge many of them to prevent myself of
running out of RAM lol (I eventually suffered from peeling of my gfx

Of course, one of the best years of its' usage was this year, 2010,
which marked my return to forum going and the re-appearance of
Animesuki's mangatron.

–Upon its official retirement in August 13, 2010, the laptop was
still fully functional (minus an Ethernet port I could have fixed, but
–I rarely shut down the laptop during it's 5 years of service. On
average, I shut down 10 times a year MAX, which was usually less than
that (because shutting down was primarily during travel). For example,
during my fansub tenure, I shut down only twice, which was for
transport. The laptop has stayed on an average 340 days a year for 5
–I only went to 1GB of RAM for a couple of months while staying at my
uncle's place in DE.
–The hard drive now serves as an external drive in an USB powered enclosure.
–Overclocking was possible from 1.6ghz to 2ghz, provided one uses
dual channel DDR400 memory.

My only regret during those 5 years, was that I was unable to
accomplish within the timeframe of my poor state of health the
original goal of this laptop's use. Let's hope I have overcome my
health problems and actually start releasing my manga project to the
world. Thanks again Averatec lappy, your services will never be

A look back at my blog’s poll history

Well, it’s been awhile since I did a poll, odd since I have a new layout since then, and in honor of my newest one, let’s look back at what it’s been like in poll land.

The end of my fansub translation days

What do you think of mangatron’s decision about translating?
mangatron! You betrayed us! Anime will never be the same without you!
Rest well, old friend.
By not translating, you disgrace all the anime girls you love.
You’re lying.

Free polls from

This one is probably the best one. I believe this was the one I created about 3 years ago when real life required me to give it its full attention, thereby ending my wonderful stint as a fansub translator. I believe my last finalized job was AQS-Anime’s Otome-wa Boku ni Koishiteru (sp?) episode 13. It was shortly after that when I was personally asked by the head of AQS to continue my great effort of the To Heart 2 OVA series, when life took over midway of my patented translation method via a smartphone. Fun times indeed…

Recommend me!

Which shows should mangatron make his top priority to view?
Lovely Complex. Tall girl eats little guy. Great stuff.
Sola. Missing an “r”, but hey, that’s anime. And it has pretty girls.
MSLN StrikerS. Aren’t you a lolicon, mangatron? Surely you jest.

Free polls from

This one was a strange one. Normally, I’m just one to watch every series that airs. But I thought how funny it would be to see what others think about my viewing habits. I think the poll results speak for themselves lol (remember, this was about 4 years ago! I’m a different person now! XD)

How does it look now?

So what do you think of the new layout?
Good! More anime girls!
Ah! My eyes! Bring back old one!
Make it better 😉

Free polls from

This poll could actually be counted as still ongoing, as it would seem I forgot to take it out when my blog got the new layout some time last year. Due to blogger’s new changes I was forced to change the layout, which I actually did quite like because I manually edited most of it’s layout, images and all. It also had a really nice banner of the ADULT FATE TESTAROSSA. That’s right, the grown up Feito-chan. Take that, you… people who call me lolitron! XD

Does pay up?
Yes! Give me the money. My Paypal email is….
No! They originated from Egypt using a Pyramid Scheme!
Never heard of it. I’m like a caveman, shut out from the world.
Free polls from

This was about 3 years ago, after spending a few minutes at that site for about a month, I had some money in my Paypal account. So of course, being the jolly, folly, human being that I am, I decided to share my good fortune. Which I ended up giving it to my older brother 😉

So, that appears to be all of what I’ve polled so far. You can still vote on them, apparently, if you think I should re-watch MSLN StrikerS 100 times over or if you think I’m still secretly translating fansubs under a different name 😉

May 08 part 2

So, May 08, a day I always celebrate. Both with my country and
personal reasons. Although I don't recall posting about this before,
so I'm kind of at a loss of words.

Some thing I seem to have the words for:

–On this day every year it's been a tradition of mine to fire up Feel
the Magic XY/XX and The Rub Rabbits.
–Yet again my Feel the Magic cart is becoming more and more
unreadable (cleaned a bit with isopropyl alcohol). Easily my oldest
cart (launch title!)
–I don't really play these 2 games much other than for this time of
year (yes it's odd). What's even more odd I'm getting more and more

DS Fat: 1 for 2, lost one mini game in FtM and won one in Rabbits.
DS Lite (White): 0 for 2, lost one mini game each from FtM and
Rabbits.(bad 1st production touchscreen)
DS Lite (JP): 1 for 6, lost 1 FtM mini game and 1 for 5 Rabbits “Eyes”
mini game.

I went 2 for 10. Wow. Those games seem to never get old (other than
FtM being unreadable as more and more years go by).

Part1 and part2 sent from my Treo750

An interview with the mangatron about Teruya Eiko

With my recent uncontrollable Teruya Eiko love I’ve been throwing around, I thought I’d explain a few things as to why the sudden interest in said girl.

I’ll interview myself in extreme fashion 😛

Q: So why the interest in a girl all of a sudden that you knew nothing about?
A: She has a number of likable points, main ones being a ponytail, green hair, stockings, miniskirt, nice deadly legs, and a forward attitude.

Q: Let’s go one by one. Why the ponytail?
A: It’s been known in the anime and gaming world that the Full Metal Panic Fumoffu episode 03 that features the pontail fetish guy was my favorite of that series (at its air date, it was known as episode 03 due to a couple of unaired episodes and the resulting un-uniformed naming scheme). The reason why that was my favorite was the blend of comedy and action, but even more so, it was the first known time that I got to see Tokiwa in a different hairstyle (ponytail). The reason why that left an impression on me is because I’m into twin tails, Tokiwa being one of them, and to see her in a ponytail, not only did it surprise me, but that led me to think, maybe it wasn’t the ponytail or the twin tails, but rather when a girl ties her hair up it rather puts a smile on my face. (I’m from Germany, and it was there that I saw so little tied hair that when a crush of mine back in 3rd grade put on a ponytail, I was about to confess on the spot)

Q: Ok… so the green hair?
A: Actually, I’m an unspoken Hatsune Miku fan, who, you guessed it, has a number of the above traits that should of had me go crazy over her instead of Teruya Eiko. But the reason why I never really talked about her is because I know so little about her other than what she came from and what she does for a living, that I felt that if I ever wanted to talk about her, I’d have to know something other than her origins.  Thus the similarities between Eiko and Miku, two girls I know little about and yet I have a great opportunity to know more about Eiko non-novel wise. That, and being a student of military doctrine and strategy, I spent a large amount of time surrounded by military hardware and documentation, the intense amount of green stuck on me in which I just ended up liking it over all the other colors. Of course, another girl worthy mention is also one of my favorites: Ryofu Housen, another twin tailed, green haired girl who I also had the pleasure of completing a garage kit of.

Q: Military man, eh? so what about the stockings? Shouldn’t that be knee-socks?
A: As you know, I am from Germany, and at the time of my growing up there I do not recall it ever being called knee-socks but rather stockings. It goes back to the early to mid 90’s, this Underwear company started this public advertising campaign featuring, well, underwear. It was then that I for the first time saw a ridiculousy large image of a woman wearing nothing but bra, pantsu and those things covering her legs. Of course, I was rather shocked to see this, Germany at the time was run(or the dominant party) by CDU, a rather tame democratic party that I thought would have put a ban on that sort of advertising. It was then that I was looking out for the thing I became to know as Stockings, the wonderful cloth that beautifies the lengths of a woman.

Q: Well, that was rather informative. So the miniskirt?
A: Isn’t it obvious? As a lover of the lengths of a girl, the miniskirt is the perfect cloth to cover the lower part of a woman and yet leave the legs to our viewing pleasure. I’d go into detail about an amusing Yahoo article a few years back about “Why guys like miniskirts”, but in short: it looks great.

Q: The legs? Or I already know this?
A: Yes, you should know this already. I’m not a entirely big fan of large breasts or flat ones, nor am I a fan of whatever it is that’s not legs, but rather the beauty of legs is that they are a part of a girl that can move, and in a large number of positions, can be very exciting to look upon. For breasts, they are stationary and pretty much enjoyable in how you view the target. But for the legs, they are the ones that can look exciting at how they are moved and how you are viewing them, making it a double requirement. Just like breasts, legs can be covered [by underwear-style clothing] to be even more sexier, but breasts, not every girl has them at the large size, whilst every girl as we know has legs, and can look good with a little bit of clothing. This is why I’m known as a lover of girls: I don’t like a feature some of them have, but rather a feature they all have. There is of course those unseen/unfelt experiences of a girls legs, which is why I was rather interested what a leg bind like Teruya Eiko’s would feel like, but at the same time I know the only way to experience that is with hostile intent, so there goes the big question: to be leg wrapped, or to not be leg wrapped…

Q: Forward attitude? Is this an Eiko thing?
A: Actually, it’s probably because she’s placed in a series that screams harem but so far isn’t, that to see her attacking, close up attitude with dealing with situations that probably has me breathe that sigh of relief of seeing a nice change in a long time. As you might have known I’ve spent several years earlier recuperating from a nasty combination of food poisoning/stomach flu, and I spent a large part of that away from anime. As we know, anime is where green hair is pretty much the only place possible, as well as stockings, miniskirts, ponytails and twin tails. Upon my return to anime viewing, I didn’t really see this at all until now in an anime, finally a green haired, stocking covered, ponytail branding, normal sized breasted, miniskirt wearing girl that appears in a series I’m following, and the only other known girl to join Hatsune Miku with a similar feature set in those 3 long years of my sickness.

And there you have it. I hope you enjoyed this rare peek into the life of a man who likes a particular feature set of a girl, one who isn’t afraid to show the extreme thinking process of his mind, one who is so unique, even he doesn’t know it 😛

I’m the biggest Teruya Eiko fan*

So, over at the Animesuki Forums I've been going head over mind for
the anime series Ichiban Ushiro No Dai Maou, so much so I've been
going nuts.

And now Teruya Eiko has invaded all of my devices. From my Laptop, to
my dumbphone (LG KG800), to my Palm TX, to my Palm Treo750, to my HP
iPAQ hx2415. With this, I should probably be the biggest Eiko fan
outside of Japan. I say, outside of Japan, because, knowing the Otaku
there, there's gotta be at least one out there who has more Teruya
Eiko stuff than I can look at with my own eyes (I've never set eyes on
any of the novels) It should be safe to claim the title since Teruya
Eiko has had little exposure outside of the novel's publishing
grounds, and well,… how many of you would plaster her on this many
devices? lol

I've been going for this “world's first-” kind of thing lately,
haven't I… it all started with that DS mod of mine.
